Swiss Watch Fair 1968 BF 68
The Favre-Leuba watch factory has just introduced a new automatic calibre. This calibre, the 11 - 269, has a centre-seconds hand and instantaneous date change. Its main feature is that it is equipped with two barrels (like the Favre-Leuba non automatic calibre 259). This design ensures both an important power reserve (48 hours) and the stability of the springs’ moment of force. Besides, a very flat movement can thus be obtained - its basic height is 3.95 and 4.05 with calendar - with standard construction elements ; great solidity results. The oscillating mass is mounted on ball bearings. Winding is undirectional, i.e. the oscillating mass turns freely in one direction only. It thus always places itself in a favourable winding position. This new calibre 269 is identical in its non automatic aspects to calibre 259. (FAVRE-LEUBA)
