Ten years ago, Patek Philippe received the “U. S. Award for Miniaturization” for creating the world’ s first portable quartz chronometer. To mark this anniversary, Patek Philippe this year presents the “Naviquartz” marine chronometer. Quartz ensures its precision (variation : one tenth of a second in normal conditions). It is both shock and vibration-proof and remains unaffected by position or pressure variations, humidity, dust or magnetic fields. It is notable for the quality of both its electronic and mechanical components (step-by-step movement and jumping second).
But its most remarkable aspect is the power source : for the first time ever, a chronometer is powered by absolutely standard batteries (3 x 1 5 V) which give it a 1-year power supply. (PATEK PHILIPPE “Naviquartz”)
