BREGUET - Tourbillon squelette avec quantième perpétuel
At the end of the XVJIIth century, Abraham-Louis Breguet, the celebrated watchmaker and founder of Breguet, conceived and invented the tourbillon regulator to overcome the time variations caused by the positional errors which plagued early pocket watches. His invention has now been given a new dimension through the transparency and refinement of this 18K yellow gold skeleton watch with a tourbillon movement. The handwinding movement with a Breguet balance-spring is hand-engraved and features a perpetual calendar giving the day of the week, month and leap year. The small seconds hand is placed on the tourbillon axis and a serpentine hand indicates the date. The silvered gold chapter-ring and auxiliary dials are hand-guilloched.
