After 20 years of research and 5 years of testing at Omega, inventor George Daniels’ dream has come true. The co-axial escapement, which drastically reduces the problem of friction, greatly improves the precision of a mechanical watch over a longer period of time. Now, for the first time, Omega has applied this technology to a series of watches. It is housed in the magnificent De Ville automatic chronometer model, with 1000 pieces in yellow gold and 1000 in red gold.
