Bernhard Lederer drew inspiration from the characteristic configuration of regulators, separating the read-off of minutes, in the centre, from that of the hours which can be read off in both local time and a second time-zone. They are respectively shown on 12 and 24-hour subdials, placed one above the other.
The space thus freed provides room for the display of the week, as a complement to the calendar with day and date apertures. This extremely complete calendar function enables highly efficient management of time. The half-moon centre hand moves a full 360° around the outer rim of the dial.
This precious creation is clad in a solid gold case, sculpted from a single block of metal, featuring a solid silver guilloché dial and worn on a leather strap with personalised buckle. Its transparent caseback also holds an amazing surprise. A gold arrow oscillates over the silvered plate, decorated with the Côtes de Genève pattern and creating an incomparable stylistic effect. The new winding system, featuring an invisible off-centered oscillating weight, was developed on the basis of a special ball-bearing mechanism.
