ach year, the GPHG and its Academy reward excellence and contemporary watchmaking creativity through 20 prizes, including the prestigious “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix award, highlighting the industry’s annual talents and achievements.
The GPHG Academy, which currently has 830 members, has already submitted several hundred timepieces for competition. Brands are now invited to enter the proposed models or other timepieces of their choice spontaneously.
The list of the 15 categories and the 2023 prizes as well as the details of the competition are available in the Rules of the 2023 edition. The conditions and formalities for entering the competition are also available on www.gphg.org.
Following the entries, the Academy will conduct a first electronic vote this summer to determine the 90 nominated timepieces. The announcement of the shortlist will take place at the beginning of September and will be followed by a travelling exhibition of the nominated models in several countries during the month of October.
The Academy will make a second decision at the end of October in order to determine the 2023 prize-winners, in parallel with the Jury, which is itself drawn from the Academy. The Jury will meet behind closed doors a few days before the awards ceremony in order to physically evaluate the models in competition.
The 2023 prize list will be unveiled on 9 November at the 23rd GPHG awards ceremony to be held at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva.
