n the lead-up to one of the hottest dates on the watch collecting calendar, the British Watchmakers’ Alliance has announced ‘The List’ confirming all the participating brands who are bringing Special Edition watches to the show.
“It’s the highlight of the event” said Alliance CEO, Alistair Audsley. “The original idea has always been about encouraging people to collect British watches and our first show in 2024 was an unprecedented success. The demand for the Special Editions was proof positive that British brands are creating superbly collectible watches which are accessible for every pocket”.
After the success of the first British Watchmakers’ Day, described by many as ‘Day One’ for the resurgent British sector, it is no surprise that more brands have committed to create Special Editions watches.
“What’s really interesting is to see how each brand defines what a Special Edition means to them and their followers. Some are creating just one single watch, some are offering a twist on one of their classics and others have created brand new designs from the ground up. We’ve tried to offer as much flex as possible but with a few unimpeachable rules.”
These include Special Editions comprising strictly limited runs of up 100 watches and a strict embargo on pre-orders.
“That way everyone who attends has a fair chance of buying the watch they want. which is important when we have collectors travelling to London from as far away as the USA and Latin America” said Katya Audsley, the event’s organiser and driving force. “Fortunately, our member brands all embrace the need to protect the integrity of this special event”.
She continued; “We’re working hard to make this second edition even better while retaining everything people enjoyed about the first event. It’s a unique opportunity to mingle with all the leading brand founders, to meet other enthusiasts and enjoy being part of the friendly community that defines British watch culture.”
British Watchmakers’ Day is held on Saturday 8 March 2025 at the Lindley Hall, London. There will be 2 sessions: 10am-2pm and 2pm-6pm.

About the British Watchmakers’ Alliance
The Alliance of British Watch and Clockmakers was founded in November 2020 by Roger Smith OBE, Mike France and Alistair Audsley (CEO).
As the official trade body for the watch and clock making sector in the British Isles, including the Republic of Ireland, it represents 101 British brands, and our primary focus remains on raising awareness of British watch and clock making to collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.
The diverse membership reflects the breadth of the industry, encompassing everything from exclusive mechanical timepieces to design-led affordable watches. What unites trade members is a shared enthusiasm for the future of British horology and a commitment to collaboration.
The Alliance represent the sector on the Economic Sector Panel of the Department for Business and Trade to influence policy and advocate for the interests of our members both domestically and for export. Collaborations with organisations like the Horological Society of New York further enrich its global partnerships. The body also works with Britain’s leading educational establishments to encourage new talent into the sector and its tri-annual Bellwether Survey provides strategic insights on the British watch and clock making sector.
Its inaugural trade fair, British Watchmakers’ Day, held in Westminster, London gathered around 1,300 watch collectors, enthusiasts and people working in the sector in March 2024 and will be held annually to serve as a platform for Trade members to sell and promote their timepieces.
