ime+Tide, one of the world’s leading publishers of watch content, will partner with the British Watchmakers’ Alliance, the official trade body for British watchmaking to hold a joint event over two days - The British Weekender.

It carries on the momentum from the wildly successful British Watchmakers’ Day of 2024 and it’s taking place at the Time+Tide Watch Discovery Studio in Oxford Circus on 23-24 November 2024. This will be one of the first events for the studio that officially opens to the public on October 28th.

The London Watch Discovery Studio is the second bricks and mortar store for Time+Tide, who officially launched the concept in Melbourne, Australia in August of 2023, sensing an appetite from watch lovers for a clubhouse and community-based take on watch retail that is built around rare, limited and exclusive releases.

In that same community spirit of opening up events and watch fairs to everyday watch lovers, tickets will be free to book for the general public here. The British Weekender is the marquee event of a month-long showcase that Time+Tide is dedicating to British brands at the studio.

Founder of Time+Tide, Andrew McUtchen says: “We were shoulder to shoulder with the British Watchmakers’ Alliance at the British Watchmakers’ Day, as we chose that moment to open physical sales of the ‘Hand-Delivered’ Pizza Watch with British legends, Studio Underd0g. It made perfect sense to keep the party going now that we have a venue in our Discovery Studio in Oxford Circus. We are big believers in so many British brands, it’s an absolute honour to be hosting so many of them at our new house in the great city of London.”

“The British Weekender is a dream housewarming result, starring practically all the hometown heroes from the British watchmaking scene,” McUtchen says. “And Alistair and I hope ALL reading this with even just a passing interest in watches will join us! It’s the first of many events in our space, and it sums up what we are here for; emerging brands, building community and creating a new physical home for watch culture.”

“For us, it’s all about supporting British watch culture,” says Alistair Audsley, CEO of the Alliance. “British Watchmakers’ Day is our cornerstone, but we want to build up a calendar of ‘must-go’ happenings for fans and collectors of British watch brands. So, when Andrew brought his idea of hosting a selective collection of British brands, we were on board in a heartbeat.

“We’re delighted by how it’s come together. While we’re jointly cooking up this first British Weekender, the special flavour is very much Time+Tide’s at their fabulous new creation space in London,” Alistair said.

There’s an incredible lineup for the British Weekender: Christopher Ward, Bremont, Studio Underd0g, Farer, Vertex, Duckworth Prestex, Isotope, Bamford, Elliot Brown, Schofield, Brooklands, Paulin, Bōken, Arken, Zero West, Bark&Jack, Wolf, who will showcase their watches and accessories throughout the weekend to the public.

CEO of Christopher Ward, Mike France says: “We’re very much looking forward to joining our fellow British brands for Time+Tide’s ‘British Watchmakers’ Weekender’ in November. As a founding member of the British Watchmakers’ Alliance, we see this event as more than just a showcase of product - it’s an opportunity to remind the world that British watchmaking, with its rich heritage and forward-thinking innovation, is thriving.”
