ast October, Depancel opened pre-orders for Serie-R F-back, a reinterpretation of the ReNaissance collection released two years earlier. At the time, the ReNaissance collection had attracted a lot of attention from the press and the Depancel community.

And for good reason: its rectangular shape, inspired by a Delage radiator grill, made it a watch with character that was very different from watchmaking standards. The 2021 version remains faithful to the original geometry: a grill still clearly visible, combined with more muscular lines and a bevelled square case inspired by fastback aerodynamic cars.

Very quickly, Serie-R F-back became the brand’s bestseller with more than 900 watches pre-ordered. The startup continued to receive daily calls from fine watchmaking lovers, wishing to order the square watch.

That is why the brand decided to bring back the Serie-R F-back. A new Metallic Green dial is completing the collection.

“This new green dial is yet another tribute to the automotive world,” says the brand founder Clément Meynier. A color that evokes for example the national color of British cars during international Gordon Bennett races, but also made famous by the legendary film which features a Ford Mustang Fastback V8 GT 390. Note also the inverted tricolor racing stripe (red, white and blue), designed as a tribute to the famous car.
