n keeping with Gerald Charles’s vision of sporty-elegant timepieces, the new GC2.0-RG Ultra-Thin and GC3.0-RG Chronograph convey casual charm and sophistication, and showcase the most accurate and reliable Swiss mechanics. The two new models are powered by exclusive automatic mechanical calibres developed in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, and customised for Gerald Charles.
They feature the Maison’s beautiful new hexagonal-shaped oscillating weight, designed by the world-renowned watch designer Mr. Octavio Garcia.
The Maestro GC2.0-RG Ultra-Thin houses the highly sophisticated Calibre Ref. GCA3002 Manufacture, a 3.7 mm thick automatic that delivers time and date functions, elevated levels of accuracy and vibration and shock resistance, and a twin-barrelled 50-hour power reserve. It has a high-grade, bi-directional oscillating weight set on a low-friction ceramic ball bearing system.
For the Maestro GC3.0-RG Chronograph, Gerald Charles turned to the Calibre Ref. GCA3022/12 Manufacture, an automatic chronograph movement based on the GCA3002. It also offers remarkable thinness, with a profile of just 6.07 mm, including its bi-directional oscillating weight, and a twin-barrelled 50-hour power reserve.
The contemporary watch designer Mr. Garcia’s beautiful hexagonal-shaped oscillating weight appeared for the first time in the micro-rotor of the Maestro 8.0 Squelette, introduced in May this year, and is now being integrated into all new Gerald Charles watches, becoming a recurring design motif for the Maison. Mr. Garcia designed and developed it in collaboration with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, using Gerald Charles founder Monsieur Genta’s style and passion for geometric shapes as hisinspiration.
The elegant, artistic design is Mr. Garcia’s contribution to the Gerald Charles Maestro Collection. As with Monsieur Genta’s iconic Maestro case, the shape of Mr Garcia’s oscillating weight is also inspired by Roman Baroque architecture.
Both the GC2.0-RG Ultra-Thin and GC3.0-RG Chronograph have sapphire crystal case backs and are set on vulcanised rubber straps decorated with the Maison’s signature Clous de Paris motif on the top side, and with Gerald Charles’s logo tapisserie on the other. As with all Gerald Charles watches, they’re water-resistant to 100 metres.
