tarting in the early 1960’s, Benrus was a relied-upon brand supplying the U.S. armed forces. Benrus took the same innovation and dependability of its military-issued watches and applied it to the brand’s popular Sea Lord line of water-worthy watches.
Also building on the success of the Benrus ‘Ultra Deep’ super compressor dive watch, the brand introduced the Sea Lord collection to the general public, which encompassed many styles over the years from full-on functional diver timepieces to dress-oriented models.
Today Benrus brings back the rarest and most highly sought-after design of the historical Sea Lord diver. Paying close attention to the original case with distinctive lug to case dimension, the new Sea Lord has been updated considering every specification.
A fusion of sport and dress for daily wear, two models of the Sea Lord are available, both Swiss Made featuring a 39mm stainless steel case with sapphire crystal and 120-click unidirectional dive bezel with ceramic insert, 30 ATM water resistance, housing a Soprod P024 automatic movement with 38-hour power reserve.
The first model is the truest to the original featuring a vintage black dial with cream BW G9 Super-LumiNova dial markers, hands and bezel lume, offered on a high-quality black rubber quick release tropic strap for $995.
The second model boasts a green dial with white BW G9 Super-LumiNova dial markers, hands and bezel lume, offered on a stainless steel bracelet with deployant clasp for $1,095. Both straps are also available for purchase separately.
“Historically Benrus had a few iconic dive watch lines, including the Sea Lord and the Ultra Deep,” says Michael Goeller, COO Benrus. “We felt that this Sea Lord model in particular was one of the more original designs to only Benrus and deserved to be brought back and introduced to a new generation of consumers.”
