ver since the first versions of the Maurice Lacroix Aikon burst onto the watch scene back in 2016, the contemporary model has become synonymous with urban life. From the outset, it fused Swiss craftsmanship, exceptional design and high perceived value; a winning combination that has led to the Aikon’s remarkable success.

As the model’s popularity has grown, so has the size of the collection. Now, the brand from the Swiss Jura is pleased to unveil a new model, the Aikon Venturer 38mm. Mindful that an increasing number of clients are seeking sub-40mm case options, Maurice Lacroix has designed this latest watch to be unisex and ideally sized for most wrists.

Consistent with other Aikon models, the Venturer 38mm is perfectly attuned to city life. However, this watch also implores the wearer to explore new places, stray from the well-worn path used by others and venture into deep blue oceans. Indeed, this is a highly versatile watch that befits most occasions.

The Aikon Venturer 38mm, offered in a choice of two dial colours, black or green, is equipped with silver-toned hour and minute hands, lined with white Super-LumiNova^®. Each hour is denoted with luminescent triangular indexes. A minute track, marked with crisp white lines, frames the dial and proves invaluable when reading off the time. The central sweep seconds hand is equipped with a luminescent ‘lollipop’, enhancing legibility. Positioned at 3 o’clock, the date display clearly stands out from the sunray dial. Everything has been optimised to ensure the dial is simple to read, day or night, on dry land or in the sea.

Every surface is wonderfully refined. For example, the black or green rotating bezel is executed in scratch-resistant ceramic and features a count-up scale, much loved by divers. The crown nestles between the broad shoulders of a protective guard, shielding it from harm. With an impressive water resistance of 300m (30ATM), the Aikon Venturer 38mm is not afraid to get its hair wet and proves the perfect companion for snorkelling, windsurfing or other aquatic sports.

The automatic ML115 calibre sits at the heart of this new model, located behind a caseback adorned with ‘Vagues du Jura’ motif and the brand’s ‘M’ logo.

The model can be selected with a black or green rubber strap, embellished with a gleaming ‘M’ logo, or a 5-rows stainless steel bracelet. Alternatively, for people struggling to make their mind up, the watch is available with both the strap and bracelet. Consistent with other Aikon models, the appearance of the watch can be modified, courtesy of the Easy Strap Exchange system, allowing the wearer to easily swap the strap or bracelet for an alternative, without the need for tools.
