ith the new Multifort M Chronometer, Mido is drawing on its watchmaking expertise to pay tribute to precision. The Multifort collection, created in 1934, is renowned for having taken the brand’s watches to a new level of incomparable excellence and reliability.
The new Multifort certified chronometer conforms to this heritage while introducing the latest high-tech innovations. Its Caliber 80, with a power reserve of up to 80 hours, is fitted with a silicon balance-spring, an unshakeable determinant of accuracy. The unique character of this exceptional Multifort shines through its daring look. The distinctive round indexes with beige Super-LumiNova® offer optimum readability against the darker background, which is vertical satin-finished and reveals a gradient from green to black. Water-resistant up to 100 m and fitted with a robust steel bracelet, the Multifort M Chronometer combines aesthetics and know-how for those who appreciate the value of a timepiece beyond its name.
The word “Chronometer” on the face of the Multifort M Chronometer testifies to its extraordinary accuracy. The information can be read quickly thanks to the contrasting colours and finishes of the components, underneath a domed sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides. With a gradient that shifts from green in the middle to black around the edge, the dial catches the light with its striking vertical satin finish. The brightness of the hands and the beige Super-LumiNova® – applied to the hour and minute hands and to the round indexes – emphasises the display elements. At night, the time can be easily read thanks to the green luminescence. A handy aperture indicates the day and date at 3 o’clock.
The case and bracelet, forged from an extremely durable steel, alternate the subtle shine of satin-finished and polished surfaces. Reliable down to every last detail, the Multifort M Chronometer can withstand a pressure of up to 10 bar (100 m / 330 ft) thanks in particular to a screwed case back and crown. The bracelet offers the practicality of a “one-click” change, with no tools required.
The accuracy of the Multifort M Chronometer, confirmed by the COSC, reflects Mido’s passion for innovation and its watchmaking expertise since 1918. Its famous Caliber 80 is made even more accurate thanks to a silicon balance-spring, which can withstand variations caused by impacts and magnetism. Its exceptional power reserve can last up to 80 hours and serves as further proof of its reliability. The refined traditional finishes of this remarkable movement – Geneva stripes on the oscillating weight, an engraved Mido logo and blued screws – can be admired at will through the transparent case back.
