fter having put the movement in the spotlight for almost eight years with open-heart watches whose high-caliber skeletonisation and 3D-sculpted bridges have become a real aesthetic signature, Code41 has launched itself into an unprecedented adventure.
The Moon Inception, exploring a new facet of watchmaking, gives prominence to the classicism and poetry of the moon’s phases. A legendary complication long demanded by the public, and one which is already arousing massive enthusiasm from the community.
- Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Code41 launching the Moon Inception!
For an exceptional project, excellent components are called for. The Moon Inception is built on the C41-MP, a Swiss movement modified by Code41 on the base of a Sellita architecture renowned for its robustness and reliability. In order to make this movement unique, the Swiss watchmaking factory AJS has been commissioned to create one of the most realistic moon disks and an oscillating weight that’s exclusive to this movement.
Between the convex sapphire crystal, the precision of the movement and the watertightness to 10 ATM, the Moon Inception is a grand slam worthy of every bit of praise. For the most demanding, the COSC certification is even offered as an optional extra, with a metronomic precision of -4/+6 seconds per day, and an official certificate accompanying each watch.
But it is above all through its virtuoso design that the Moon Inception makes its big splash. In a subtle display of metatheater, the dial brilliantly plays with shapes, colors and textures: the grained background recalls the lunar surface, while the intertwined rings evoke its craters. The moon and date circles form an 8, the symbol of infinity, authenticity and the power of engagement. The convex sapphire crystal adds a retro-classical touch that brings the whole thing together. The result: the horological magic is stronger than ever.
To make the experience even more immersive, Code41 is offering a lucky few the opportunity to assemble their watches themselves in a real watchmaking workshop. They will be supervised by professionals at the brand’s partner Initium, who’ll help them at each stage. Limited to only 16 places, this experience promises to be unforgettable.
