uilt in 1104, the Arsenale of Venice was a pioneering example of industrial organisation. Using advanced techniques for its time, the Serenissima achieved remarkable naval production, becoming a key maritime and industrial power.
With assembly line processes and innovative machinery, the Arsenale introduced a new industrial concept that would shape the world for centuries. This inspired the Morelli brothers of Venezianico to create a watch that honours this historic building and its spirit of innovation: Arsenale, a timepiece that reflects the technical precision and refined design that have long defined the Arsenale.
Arsenale embodies the concept of the building from which it takes its name, harmoniously blending the ancient and the modern. The watch combines a modern design, with flat surfaces alternating with polished bevels, and a minimal aesthetic, deeply rooted in classic watchmaking, such as the Côtes de Genève finish on the dial and the skeletonised dauphine hands. This balance between tradition and innovation perfectly represents the essence of the Arsenale, which has shaped the history of technological progress without forgetting its roots.
The watch stands out with its elegant 40mm 316L steel case, characterised by a continuous alternation of polished and satin finishes. One of the model’s strengths is the Canova ConceptTM bracelet, an evolution of Venezianico’s iconic design. This bracelet has been redesigned to enhance both aesthetics and comfort, while maintaining the original structure, characterised by the alternation of concave and convex shapes.
The links are now flatter and more modern, adorned with two polished bevels, creating an elegant contrast with the satin surfaces. The Canova ConceptTM is a perfect synthesis of tradition and innovation, thanks to various handcrafted details that increase its value and improve ergonomics, making it ideal for everyday wear.
The polished steel bezel with a knurled texture is one of Arsenale’s distinctive elements, inspired by the two iconic towers that dominate the entrance to the namesake shipyard. The design, which replicates the exact pattern found on the towers, is not just an aesthetic detail, but a symbolic reminder of the historical and technological importance of this building.
The dial, featuring a vertical Côtes de Genève finish, available in Blue, Anthracite, and Violet tones, is another example of technical mastery. This finish, achieved through a meticulous process using rotating brushes, gives the dial depth and luminosity, while reflecting light with a unique kaleidoscopic effect as the wrist moves.
Inside Arsenale, a thin automatic Cal. Miyota 9029 movement powers the timepiece. The skeletonised dauphine hands move over small square polished steel hour markers, resulting in a watch that, despite housing an automatic movement, maintains a thickness of just 8.95mm, ensuring excellent wrist comfort.
With water resistance up to 50 meters, Arsenale joins the Venezianico collection alongside the Bucintoro, Nereide, and Redentore models, as an expression of the brand’s creativity and innovative vision. It represents a true bridge between tradition and the future, symbolising the brand’s ability to evolve without ever losing touch with its cultural heritage. The engraved case back, depicting the towers of the Arsenale, is a further tribute to Venice’s historic forge of innovation.
