Tutima Glashütte new chronograph supports Mara Elephant Project

With the release of the Mara Safari titanium chronograph special edition in safari green, available in 250 pieces, the German brand directs proceeds from each sale to support the vital work of the NGO in protecting elephants and their habitats within the Serengeti-Maasai Mara ecosystem.

P

rotecting what is important: With every specimen of the new Mara Safari titanium chronograph – limited to 250 pieces – Tutima Glashütte supports the crucial work of the Mara Elephant Project to protect elephants and their habitats across in the world-famous Serengeti/Maasai Mara ecosystem.

The colour alone underscores the outdoor qualities of this robust timepiece and awakens a thirst for travel and adventure. The safari green dial is protected by a 2.5-mm-thick, doubly anti-reflective sapphire crystal that is almost 100% reflection-free. The same colour continues handsomely on the supple, pleasantly soft rubber strap with titanium buckle. The muted green wristband connects seamlessly to the case, which is pressure-tested to 30 atmospheres and made from ultralight, antimagnetic, scratch- and corrosion-resistant titanium.

Integrated large-surface push-pieces with nonslip surfaces ensure perfect grip when measuring elapsing intervals. All hands and indices, as well as the luminous capsules on the rotatable bezel, are coated with Super-LumiNova to ensure that they remain clearly legible even in the dark. Chronograph Calibre T310 is a reliable timekeeper that amasses a 62-hour power reserve and automatically winds itself with every motion of the wearer’s wrist.

Protection is already in the name – because the neologism Tutima is derived from the Latin word tutus, which means secure and protected. With the Mara Safari, we are actively committed to the conservation of our global heritage. The Mara Elephant Project protects elephants and their habitats in the African savannah and promotes peaceful coexistence between humans and wildlife.

CEO Marc Goss and his team train rangers, collect data on the population and migration of elephants, and help to prevent poaching. For many years, Goss has been accompanied on helicopter and jeep missions by a Tutima chronograph that his late father wore as a ranger and pilot in Kenya. Inspired by the Goss family history and the commitment of the Mara team, Tutima Glashütte supports the Mara Elephant Project with every Mara Safari chronograph.
