aymond Weil announces the launch of “Millesime Centre Seconds Shellman Limited Edition” in collaboration with Shellman which is a watch specialty store in Japan, available only at Shellman Shinjuku-Isetan Main building, Nihonbashi-Mitsukoshi and Ginza-Mitsukoshi.

Raymond Weil has collaborated with Shellman to develop the first Millesime for a limited edition in Japan. This is a special timeless piece with a vintage feeling that will be loved by watch lovers for many years to come.

The sector dial, which displays hours, minutes, and seconds on different tracks, is a color of champagne gold carefully selected from numerous color samples. Only 12 o’clock is indicated by classic style Arabic numerals, and the hour indexes at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock are a combination of squares and bars, reminiscent of vintage watches, but with the unique character of Millesime. The brand logo and hands, coloured in anthracite, are in perfect harmony with the vintage look of the champagne gold sector dials. The hour and minute hands, coated with Super-LumiNova, are moderately modernised to a sharp form, maintaining a “neo-vintage” balance.

The thickness of the dial increases from the centre where the vertical hairline finished creates a rich expression to the smooth textured hour track, while the outermost minute track with its concentric circular grain finished slopes gently outward. The dial design is three-dimensional and intricate with varying finishes. The black circumference at the border between the centre and the hour track further accentuates the impression of the sector dial.

The bezel is carefully chamfered to make the case appear thinner. The sides of the case and lugs and the bezel are satin-finished, while the tops of the lugs and the bezel are polished. The contrast created by using two different finishes gives a three-dimensional effect. The long lugs with a vintage look are rounded off and the tips are curved toward the case backside to improve the comfort of wearing.

The vintage design of watch glass, which is reminiscent of the plastic watch glass of the past, is produced with sapphire crystal in the form of a cylindrical box. The sapphire crystal is cut into a beautiful box shape using modern technology.
