remont’s Terra Nova field watch collection is inspired by military pocket watches of the early 20th century. Styled and meticulously crafted, the Terra Nova includes all the hallmarks of those original timepieces, capturing their rugged elegance, practicality, simplicity, and essential functionality, reinterpreted for the 21st century.
In line with the brands commitment to ultimate durability and exceptional quality, Bremont explores a new bronze alloy for its Terra Nova collection. The series of contemporary field watches, with their unique, geometric cushion-shaped case, low profile, and shortened lugs, was introduced in 2024 in resilient 904L steel. For 2025, the British brand introduces three new references in a bronze, high-strength cupro-aluminium alloy.
Traditionally associated with the nautical realm, bronze equally excels on dry land, the domain of the Terra Nova. Cupro-aluminium is a highly qualitative bronze alloy and, following the introduction of superior 904L steel to Terra Nova in 2024, further demonstrates Bremont’s dedication to using the best possible materials to create rugged, tough, and highly durable precision timepieces.
Bremont is first and foremost a manufacturer of robust and rugged tool watches, therefore, implementing a particular material always and only happens if it makes functional sense. Cupro-aluminium was selected due to the alloy’s strength, durability, and versatility. It can be easily cast and shaped into intricate designs, crucial for creating the high-quality Terra Nova two-piece watch case with its sophisticated and detailed design. The alloy also has a higher tensile strength than other types of bronze due to the strengthening effects of aluminium and silicon. This makes the material more durable and able to withstand the wear and tear of being worn on the wrist.
Cupro-aluminium boasts several additional advantages. First, its aluminium and silicon composition ensures it is hypoallergenic, and is more resistant to scratches than traditional bronze, helping to maintain its appearance over time. While slightly lighter than conventional steel and bronze, every gram counts when it comes to wristwatches. Aesthetically, cupro-aluminium offers a unique visual appeal with a soft golden tone and a warm reddish hue. Unlike traditional bronze, it develops a gradual and even patina, avoiding the uneven green or black discoloration, resulting in a subtle, controlled transformation over time.
The unique properties of the bronze alloy will transform each of the three new Terra Nova Bronze iterations into highly personal timepieces. Each individual watch will age and patina differently. The high-tech bronze alloy seems alive and will age within three months, doing so very softly and subtly, resulting in an appearance with a subtly distressed look and feel.
The new Terra Nova Bronze models feature a dark green or caramel gradient dial. The Terra Nova 40.5mm Date Bronze and Terra Nova 42.5mm Chronograph Bronze feature a dark green linear gradient dial, whilst the Terra Nova 40.5mm Turning Bezel Power Reserve Bronze features a warm caramel linear gradient dial reminiscent of a seemingly endless desert.
The three newcomers also display subtle design changes; the dial presents a smaller Wayfinder logo, whilst the chronograph and the power reserve models with their turning bezel have smaller full Super-LumiNova block numerals on the dial, creating a more balanced appearance without sacrificing readability.
The Terra Nova 40.5mm Date Bronze is available with three strap variations. The watch can be worn on with a black and green NATO-style strap, a khaki green nubuck strap featuring cream box stitching, both with a buckle in PVD bronze-coloured steel, or a full-bronze highly articulated bracelet with small links that follow the contours of the wrist seamlessly. The brushed and polished two-piece bronze alloy case features a push-in crown and measures 40.5mm in diameter, is 11.11mm thick, has a lug-to-lug length of 47mm, and a lug width of 22mm. Like all three new Terra Nova Bronze models, the 40.5 Date Bronze with green dial features a decorated PVD bronze-coloured 904L stainless steel case back.
Inside the 100-meter water-resistant case of this Terra Nova model beats the Calibre BE-36AE, a modified, automatic Sellita SW200-1 movement with 38 hours of power reserve. It powers the rose gold-plated hour, minute, and central second hands, plus the date shown at 3 o’clock. The anti-reflective and scratch resistant sapphire crystal offers a clear view of the gradient green dial with numerals crafted from full-block Super-LumiNova, which delivers intense, long-lasting luminosity even in the most challenging conditions.
Exploring new terrains is a challenging affair that requires the right mindset and tools. The Terra Nova 40.5mm Turning Bezel Power Reserve Bronze Caramel comes outfitted with a bidirectional Cupro-aluminium alloy bezel engraved with a compass rose. The two-piece case measures 40.5 × 11.9mm, has a length of 47 mm, and a lug width of 22mm. The 28,800 BPH (4Hz) movement has a 38-hour power reserve that you can track perfectly on the dial. numerals crafted from full-block Super-LumiNova, which delivers intense, long-lasting luminosity even in the most challenging conditions.
The Terra Nova 42.5mm Chronograph Bronze with green dial is the most complicated and versatile newcomer. The chronograph’s satin and polished two-piece bronze cupro-aluminium case measures 42.5mm in diameter, 14.8mm in height, 48.8 mm in length, and has a lug width of 22mm. The 100-meter water-resistant case houses the Chronometer rated calibre BE-50AV. This is a tuned version of the robust, reliable, and accurate Sellita SW510BH a, an automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve. It features a central sweep chronograph seconds hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and a date at 6 o’clock. Apart from the chronograph function, the Terra Nova 42.5mm Chronograph Bronze Green is outfitted with a bi-directional bronze cupro-aluminium compass bezel with a black ceramic insert, making this watch a versatile timing and navigational tool.
The watch is available on either a refined bronze alloy three-link bracelet featuring a quick-release and practical butterfly clasp, a green nubuck leather strap with a cream box stitch featuring a PVD bronze-coloured stainless steel pin buckle, or a black and green NATO-style strap crafted on traditional French looms from the 1800s with a PVD bronze-coloured stainless steel loop.
As you would expect from a sporty, robust, and high-qualitative Bremont tool watch, the bronze chronograph is outfitted with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal and full-block Super-LumiNova numerals, delivering intense, long-lasting luminosity even in the toughest conditions.
