ido is propelling the Multifort into a new dimension: Technometry. Now dressed in deep blue and steel, with its octagonal bezel, this sports model with clean, powerful lines revisits a unique Mido function: the rotating flange activated by a second crown located at 2 o’clock.
The timepiece features a matt blue dial decorated with horizontal lines, an octagonal bezel on a classic case and two eight-sided crowns, also in a matching blue. In a nod to diver’s watches, the rotating flange – activated by the crown at 2 o’clock – allows the time to be counted down without the risk of mishandling. This function first appeared in the brand’s catalogue in 2002 with the All Dial Diver, then in 2013 with the Multifort Two Crowns.
At the heart of this sports watch is Caliber 72, known for its remarkable reliability, thanks to a power reserve of up to 72 hours and a high-tech Nivachron™ balance spring. With the Multifort 8 Two Crowns, the fields of exploration are multiplied, just like the eight faces of its bezel – the number that represents infinity.
Forged from the finest materials, the new Multifort 8 Two Crowns boasts an assertive character and formidable power. On its subtly worked matt blue dial, the magnificent reliefs of a horizontal motif create a dazzling play of light. The baton indexes – round and trapezoidal on the quarter-hours – create a three-dimensional effect, like the perimeter of the dial. Against this intense backdrop, the display indications stand out in white. Super-LumiNova ensures that the hour indexes and hour and minute hands are perfectly legible. The date appears at 3 o’clock – a useful function for day-to-day use. An internal rotating bezel completes this efficient display. Operated by a dedicated crown at 2 o’clock, this calibrated 60-minute flange can be used to count down the time. This rare function, inspired by diver’s watches, is making a comeback at Mido. The sporty face is topped by a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective treatment on both sides for optimal readability.
But it is the bezel on the Multifort 8 Two Crowns that really sets it apart. With its fine craftsmanship, this time it features eight polished facets, contrasted with a satin-finish. The brilliance of the stainless steel extends through the case. On the sides, the two crowns treated with blue PVD echo the deep shade of the dial. The harmony of colours continues with the blue rubber strap, worked with relief motifs in the centre to create reflections, making it perfect for both the city and the great outdoors…
Remarkable right down to its gears, the Multifort 8 Two Crowns beats to the rhythm of the Caliber 72, renowned for its exceptional slimness. Carefully crafted and decorated, this latest-generation Swiss movement is revealed through the model’s transparent case back. It offers an extended power reserve of up to 72 hours and formidable accuracy. A Nivachron™ balance spring guarantees exceptional resistance to magnetism and shocks for exemplary reliability to meet the challenges of everyday life, now and into the future.
The Multifort 8 Two Crowns is also available in a steel version with a black dial fitted on a bracelet featuring links with geometric surfaces which create a fascinating play of reflections.
