Schwarz Etienne sculpts intricate textures in Geometry Black

A monochromatic creation that reinterprets traditional hand-guilloché techniques, it features an 18-carat gold dial, in-house micro-rotor movement, and geometric patterns designed with Éric Giroud to showcase the concept of organic “deconstruction”. It is the fourth model in the Geometry family.

chwarz Etienne extends the bold spirit of the Geometry family with a striking new creation: the Geometry black. The latest in a series of four models, it skilfully combines contemporary elegance with century-old watchmaking craftsmanship. Its deep, mysterious black tones enhance the exceptional dial, reflecting the brand’s in-house expertise in movement manufacturing. Tradition and creativity unite in this piece of horological art, embodying the perfect harmony between mechanics and design.

The Geometry black represents a fresh interpretation of the brand’s dedication to artisanal craftsmanship, perpetuating a Swiss tradition of excellence. Its 18-carat gold dial, entirely cloaked in black, exudes a powerful intensity. The monochromatic palette acts as a revealer, highlighting the subtle contrasts of its hand-guilloché patterns.

A true demonstration of Schwarz Etienne’s artisan skills, the dial incorporates traditional motifs reinterpreted with elegance. Through the use of deconstructed geometric shapes, it becomes a unique visual inspiration. The mosaic pattern of arcs and reliefs is executed using a variety of finishes: fluted lines, azuré, clous de Paris and fine sandblasted finishes. These hand-guilloché textures interweave like seen through prisms, offset yet perfectly coherent. Inspired by geometry - the science of proportions, shapes, and surfaces - Schwarz Etienne showcases the concept of organic “deconstruction” with geometric patterns created in collaboration with designer Eric Giroud.

Schwarz Etienne enhances the depth and refined texture of the black dial through a subtle play of shadows and light, orchestrated by its reliefs. This effect is further emphasised by a polished 39mm stainless steel case, strengthening the monochromatic aesthetic of the watch. The hour and minute hands, with their elegant and minimalist lancine-style, stand out against the hand-guilloché black dial, offering optimal readability of the time. The small second is positioned at 6 o’clock on a delicately sandblasted anthracite subdial, subtly distinguishing itself from the rest of the dial. This sober and distinguished aesthetic extends to the patinated black leather strap, complemented by a tone-on-tone lining and a stainless steel folding buckle.

The intensity of the dial naturally extends into the movement, visible through the transparent case back. The Geometry black houses an exceptional in-house movement, the ASE 200.02 automatic caliber with a micro-rotor, a perfect expression of Schwarz Etienne’s century-old expertise and technical mastery.

A key element of the movement, its micro-rotor stands out through a subtle interplay of finishes and nuances. A blend of deep sandblasted black and satin-finished grey, enhanced by polished angles and the SE logo applied in relief, it contrasts with the black mainplate and bridges. Nestled in a finely sandblasted black PVD setting, echoing the essence of the Geometry black, it integrates harmoniously into the entire movement.

The movement reveals sophisticated finishes, combining sandblasted bridges, a black PVD coating and polished rhodium-plated angles that accentuate every contour. The rhodium-plated brand engraving highlights its decidedly contemporary character. Finally, with its double barrel, the Geometry black offers an 86-hour power reserve, ensuring optimal performance.

Schwarz Etienne concludes its Geometry family with the Geometry black, a piece that perfectly embodies the brand’s unique character and attention to detail. A modern reinterpretation of black, this timepiece represents an exceptional horological work of art, a true reflection of the brand’s commitment to mastering the art of watchmaking.
