A double axis tourbillon counteracts the effects of terrestrial gravitation on the caliber’s mobile components as the tourbillon cage rotates in 60 seconds and completes a revolution over itself in 2.5 minutes, while the entire tourbillon covers a full revolution around the watch’s central axis in 10 minutes. Both the 1-carat, 288-facet Jacob Cut® diamond and the magnesium-lacquered blue globe rotate on themselves in 30 seconds, and travel with the tourbillon and the time display around the dial in 10 minutes. Jacob & Co.’s patented Differential Gears System allows the time display to maintain the 12/6 o’clock position regardless of where it is in the rotation.
