On Wednesday, May 8 Antiquorum will hold a sale of Collector's Pocket Watches, Wristwatches & Clocks at the Grand Havana Room in New York. The auction, offering about 300 lots, will be preceded by previews in Beverly Hills and in New York. The first exhibition will be in Beverly Hills at the Grand Havana Room, on April 30 and May 1 (301 North Canon Drive). Further exhibitions will take place in two locations in New York, at Tourneau's TimeMachine, on May 4 and 5 (57th Street at Madison Ave.) and at the Grand Havana Room, from May 6 (666 5th Avenue). The online auction catalogue will be available for viewing on Antiquorum's web-site, at www.antiquorum.com,; about 2 weeks prior to the sale.

The auction presents an extremely interesting collection of 150 wristwatches from a private West Coast collector. The collection, compiled over 25 years, includes a wide variety of brands spanning the years 1910-1990 and ranging in price from approximately US$ 400 to US$ 30,000 (SFr. 700-50'000/Euro 480-34,000). Collectors and watch lovers will revel in this eclectic selection of wristwatches, all in excellent condition, with several that have never been worn [See Slide]. Some of the brands represented in this private collection are Agassiz, Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Breitling, Cartier, Ebel, Jaeger LeCoultre, Longines, Movado, Omega, Patek Philippe, Rolex, Ulysse Nardin, Universal, Vacheron Constantin, and Van Cleef & Arpels. Being an American collection, there are also several American wristwatches, including brands such as Bulova, Elgin, Hamilton, Illinois Watch Company, and Waltham.
